Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aspects of litigation, including:
  • Class, collective, and PAGA actions
  • Single-plaintiff actions
  • Evaluate claims
  • Handle mediation processes
  • Take depositions
  • Engage in motion practice
  • Prepare for and participate in arbitration and trial
  • Involve in administrative charge work, including preparing position statements
  • Depending on experience:
  • Work with senior attorneys to counsel HR professionals and business executives on employment law compliance
  • Provide strategic advice to avoid and resolve employment disputes

Qualifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership
  • 5+ years of experience handling employment litigation in California, including:
  • Wage and hour class, collective, or PAGA actions
  • Substantial experience in employment litigation in California, specifically in:
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Leave interference claims
  • (Preferably representing management)
  • Experience handling charges before the EEOC and similar state or local agencies
  • Experience drafting employment policies (preferred)
  • Experience counseling employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (preferred)
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously to meet client demands
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
