The Plant Generalist is responsible for providing day-to-day Administrative and Plant support while managing the front office activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position also supports the Human Resources department, including various programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Administrative and clerical office dutiesData-entry and tracking KPIsCreate blanket requisitions and purchase requisitions into SAP systemReceive incoming products and match with PO and transfer inventory in SAP systemProcessing weekly payroll and report on any temporary employee hours each weekTrack incoming inventory by rail or barge and report demurrage costs on rail and bargeReport barges unloaded to the Port CommissionSupport the Human Resources department, including functions like assisting with recruiting, posting internal communications, events planning, administration of Human Resources Information Systems, etc.Assisting with Corporate Initiatives (Carmeuse Foundation and Community Outreach)Other duties as assigned by managementRequirements:

High School Diploma or GED required, associate's degree or higher preferred3+ years of experience in manufacturing or logistics environmentsExperience in inventory control, production scheduling, customer service, purchasing, etc.Familiar with customer relations and operations personnelDetail oriented with strong planning, organization, and multi-tasking abilitiesGood oral and written communication skills with pleasant phone mannerismsStrong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, database, etc.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environmentTeam player; must be able to work as a team as well as independentlyWilling and able to be on call and work overtime
