Business Analyst - Wholesale Lending

Function background / context:The Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team is a critical component of First Line of Defense for wholesale lending and counterparty credit risk. It partners with businesses to ensure we have best-in-class risk and control capabilities. ICM also plays an important role in Transformation efforts by helping to drive a focus on wholesale credit risk management. Through ongoing investment in processes, controls, systems, and governance, ICM continues to further embed consistency and best practices across the Major Global Bank, driving closer alignment between our business and regulatory goals. The Lending Transformation Program (LTP) is a key initiative within ICM. The goal is to transform the end-to-end wholesale lending process which will consolidate all remediation efforts for loan product processing and establish a consistent target operating model with a focus on improved processes, controls, and enhanced technology to achieve best-in-class processing capabilities to support our client franchise.

ICM is looking for a highly energized, dynamic business analyst with knowledge of wholesale lending. This individual should understand the product and its supporting operating model (e.g., transaction management, reporting, controls, data and technology requirements, balance sheet, key metrics, etc.). They should be ready to join a fast paced, world leader in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:•Accounting Business Analyst working with Operations and Finance team members to drive wholesale lending balance sheet substantiation process improvements.•Document and evaluate existing product processor accounting methodology; review of product life cycle events, accounting engine set up, trial balance and GL posting. Highlighting non-standard practices.•Tracing product process accounts through operational, boundary, controls. Ensuring substantiation attestation is supported by governance and reconciliation.•Evaluate current state process and conduct risk assessments for gaps to target state and policy.•Identify opportunities to simplify both operational and strategic environment across Lending platforms and accounting platforms.•Design and implement appropriate Balance Sheet control framework to monitor, communicate, remediate, and prevent future defects.•Define and document Operations future state processes. Working closely with Operations and Finance to drive internal productivity, standardization and process re-engineering.•Assist in the construction and implementation of roadmap; project activities, identification of dependencies, prioritisation, logical phasing and execution against plan.•Coordination of day-to-day project tasks including tracking, RAID logs and status reporting.•Leads meetings, including working groups, and prepares material for ad-hoc and scheduled meetings.•Ensure adherence with change management methodology for any enhancements. Including downstream impact assessment, design and execution of test cycles and release management.•Collaborate with challenge functions in Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit. Ensure transformation outcomes adhere to enterprise control policies, standards, and procedures.•Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Client, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications and Competencies:•10 years' experience and business analysis.•Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.•Must have wholesale lending experience, preference for background in Operations, Risk or Finance function.•Proven record of delivery in process and organizational change.•Possess a strong knowledge of control design and metrics.•Should demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail.•Ability to drive change and effectively manage projects and stakeholders.•Strong organizational leadership and influencing skills.•Proactive, 'no surprises', approach in communicating issues/requests.•Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.•Strong business analysis, problem solving and analytical skills.•Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive.•Keen sense of urgency and eagerness for ownership.•Works well under pressure and in tight deadlines.
