Job Summary

Identify external funding sources and coordinate the proposal, planning, development, implementation, and administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements in support of the College's Strategic Plan. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.

Essential Functions

Develop and support the writing of applications and proposals for grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements. Ensure content is of best quality and that highly competitive packages are completed and submitted in a timely manner with the proper approvals and signatures. Compile and submit follow-up reports and documentation as required.

Monitor all externally-funded projects to ensure compliance with approved goals and schedules and adhere to approved budgets. Develop, write, and submit amendments to include extensions, renewals, and budget changes. Ensure timely submission of all deliverables, including performance and close-out reports. Research and respond to internal and external auditors to resolve any grant-funded audit issues.

Develop and coordinate strategies that address the needs of the College for external funding sources to support new and continuing programs and projects that are consistent with the College's overall mission and strategic plan. Serve as an information resource to employees about grants and guide them throughout the process of planning, writing, and developing proposals.

Research, identify, and evaluate prospective external funding sources that support the College's Strategic Plan. Identify grants and external funding sources that are available and alert stakeholders. Interpret program goals and understand administrative requirements for grant development using the internet, journals, and other sources.

Research and maintain information and data concerning demographics, various aspects of education, and socio-economic statistics needed to support critical needs or problem statements required as part of funding applications, using such sources as the College data systems, United States Census, federal, state, and local government databases and academic and professional publications. Increase and encourage participation in developing and implementing grants.

Provide technical expertise to employees and partners concerning the grants process. Serve as instructor for seminars, workshops, and structured classes to increase grant development. Develop and maintain relationships with department heads, funders, and outside project partners to develop joint projects and potential funding opportunities.

Compile and maintain data regarding the status of applications, active agreements, and generate routine or special reports covering pending and active awards, funding levels, fund sources, and other pertinent grant-related information.

Ensure compliance and reporting of all assigned grants by identifying issues in a timely manner and collaboratively finding solutions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
