Duties and Responsibilities:Note: (* denotes essential functions)*Under general supervision serves as the Grants Coordinator for the Office of Planning, Policy, and Assessment (OPPA), promoting grant development, implementation, assessment/evaluation, and reporting at Leeward Community College.*Utilizing data from various sources, identifies funding opportunities that align with the institution's strategic priorities and academic programs, focusing on federal, state, and local government grants, as well as private foundations.*Assists faculty, staff, and administrators with developing competitive grant proposals, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance with funding agency guidelines.*Assists principal investigators (PIs) with finalizing and submitting grant applications, including budgets, narratives, and supporting documents to granting agencies and the UH System Office of Research Services.*Identifies and secures the services of external grant writers and/or evaluators when specialized expertise is needed for complex or large-scale grant proposals.*Works in conjunction with and supports PIs, deans, etc. to coordinate post-award activities, including monitoring project reporting timelines and budgets; facilitating communication with PIs, project staff, and funding agencies; and assisting in the preparation and submission of progress reports, financial reports, and final reports to funding agencies as required.*Collaborates with the Business Office to assist PIs in navigating complex procurements.*Monitors and coordinates the administration and compliance of awarded grants, ensuring adherence to institutional policies, federal regulations, and funding agency requirements.*Prepares reports for college leadership and stakeholders related to current and/or pending grants that includes grant performance metrics, outcomes, and impact.*Develops training workshops and mentorship opportunities for faculty and staff on grant writing and management.*Provides one-on-one consultation and technical assistance to faculty and staff throughout the grant development and management process.*Maintains and updates resources (e.g., grants manual, templates), to support grant-seeking activities.*Establishes and maintains relationships with external funding agencies, community partners, the UH Foundation, and other colleges within the University of Hawai'i system to identify potential collaborative opportunities.*Serves as a liaison between the college and funding agencies, representing the college in meetings, site visits, and conferences.*Works consistently to document, streamline, and enhance the grants development and management process through technology and process improvements.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Social Sciences, Education, Business, or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for grant development/management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of grant development/management as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with higher education systems, grants, and contracts.Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to develop effective planning processes.For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with grant development/management in higher education.Experience with University financial information systems and electronic research administration systems for handling personnel documents, budget and report verification, grant submissions, approvals, and expenditure reviews for reporting and audit purposes.Knowledge and experience in reviewing requests for proposals for federal, state, private, or other extramural funding, with skills applicable to higher education and familiarity with relevant policies and procedures.Proven track record of securing funding from federal, state, local government sources and/or private foundations.Application Submission:
