Job Title: Principal Azure Engineer Location: OH - Columbus What you'll do: The Principal Azure Engineer - Contractor will provide the required support for our hybrid compute environment. This role will provide support, implementation, and design services for Azure and banking applications. This role will be resolving, and appropriately completing assigned cases and change requests, as well as acting as an escalation for support issues. The Azure Engineer will apply new solutions through research and collaboration within the team, as well as collaborate with other IT teams. . As an engineer, you will contribute to the team's capabilities by demonstrating technical competence, initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and teamwork while collaborating with distributed team members and stakeholders. * Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure. * Azure Log Analytics and automation account, Azure IaaS Monitoring and Management, manage and monitor IaaS deployments. * Automation technology options within Azure, PowerShell, JSON, Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates. * Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure. * Drive decision making. Identify alternatives, pros, and cons, and make recommendations. * Deploying Azure VMs (Windows Server and Linux) in a highly available environment. * Explore configuring hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and Azure, and how to monitor performance to comply with service-level agreements * Utilize native Azure services to meet the business technology and resiliency requirements. What we are looking for: What you will do: Design, configuration, and support of a hybrid cloud environment Create, modify, delete Azure cloud resources to include VMs, PaaS, storage, NIC, VNET, peer routing, NSGs, ASGs, traffic manager and front door, load balancers, Azure firewall, API Gateway and other capabilities. Assist in setting technical direction for the architecture of cloud technologies. Work with team members and mentor Establish practices to ensure quality and consistency. Script and automate routine tasks (Security Groups, ec2 deployments, etc.) working with the infrastructure as code team. Set up and maintain alternate data processing sites and workarounds during outage situations. Develop documentation, user manuals, and policy and procedure information. Create a strategy plan for deployments, define structure for production/DR environments. Report to management daily on project status, deployment results, and daily operations Provide technical assistance to technical services, development staff, project consultants, and support personnel in other departments. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Work with stakeholders to achieve business goals. Document SOPs and help junior team members. Document system designs, present to Technical review boards and CABs for changes and standards Work with EA team to declare engineering standards. Work with vulnerability team to remediate on issues. Develop strategies to meet business goals. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain a virtual network using hub-and-spoke network topology Assist in the design and standardization of modern application stacks within the Azure platform. Provide a highly available, highly scalable, and reliable infrastructure Minimize cost while ensuring day to day business is resilient. Configure and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers in a fast-paced environment Provide knowledge and guidance to team members to help develop their abilities and careers.
