The College Board Infrastructure Engineering team is a dedicated team of 5 engineers responsible for researching and implementing automations, improvements and enhancements within our cloud-based infrastructure. College Board has transformed into an Agile organization, embracing DevOps and Cloud-native systems, with the goal of improving speed and reliability of service delivery in support of our mission.Our team consists of engineers with a unique blend of skills and experiences, yet we underline the value of each individual and celebrate the successes of the TEAM. We build solutions to help reimagine and reshape engineering practices within College Board. We work with Product DevOps, Network Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams to design, build, and manage robust infrastructure solutions in AWS at scale. We swarm sometimes and we go deep on an individual basis at other times. We are committed to remaining current with new technologies. We learn an re creative and value the merit of ideas.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer on our Infrastructure Engineering team, you are an idea-generator, a catalyst, and a collaborator. You understand cloud software delivery, tools, and processes that empower efficient and resilient delivery that adheres to top-notch development practices. In this role, you will:
Design & Implementation (70%)
Build solutions using the best practices of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps
Continuously develop the skills required to work as part of the agile team in a poly-skilled development environment
Apply subject matter expertise in current technologies including cloud networking, API integrations, infrastructure resiliency, and cloud design
Write code to automate the infrastructure lifecycle, create and support internal tools utilizing IaC, and be able to use CLIs
Collaborate to define transformation patterns from a vertical application with service dependencies to a cloud capability
Partner with domain SMEs (Delivery Team Software Engineers, Security, Infrastructure, Network, Observability and Operations) to analyze the features and capabilities
Work with technology leaders to understand business objectives and align architectures and cloud product offerings with those objectives
Contribute to the development and growth of the Cloud Engineering Program, through thought leadership, design and implementation of tools and processes
Participate in the Enterprise Architecture Review process
Strategy & Communication (20%)
Implement cloud-first architectural solutions and best practices
Contribute to technology strategy and planning; conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
Participate in agile scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming, Daily SCRUM, Demo, Retro) and contribute to team deliverables
Participate in peer reviews of software engineering artifacts
Assist in the identification and resolution of production and production-like issues
Team Coordination (10%)
Mentor team members including designing and developing training materials to communicate the current and future infrastructure architecture
Lead technical efforts and mentor technical staff in the development and usage of technology architectures and solutions with a primary focus on DNS, Disaster Recovery and Resiliency
About You
You have:
5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD framework, immutable infrastructure, automation, orchestration, and other modern DevOps pa
Technical knowledge of Cloud Computing, DevOps, and Microservices
Strong knowledge and experience with distributed cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
