Purpose:
Responsible scheduling, coordinating and the management of software/hardware releases across multiple fielded Next Generation 911 (NG911) systems comprising of multiple manufactures/platforms. The releases can include application updates, security patches, feature improvements, and hardware upgrades. Responsible for defined policies, processes, and tools / services to help management and program teams manage the deployment of releases from lab into production. Responsibilities for documentation and communications of release events Responsible in assisting program management with interdependencies and risks in sync with program schedule and contract requirements.
Responsibilities: Analyze, document, and present all related regulatory, architectural, and operational requirements applicable to release management in NG911 systems Assess, document, and maintain policies and procedures to be complied with in release activities. Document, and present release communications to ensure internal, external, and customer points of contact are in sync on release activities Develops, documents, and presents metrics reports on the summary and detail of all release activities in progress Lead Release Management activities for the program through the full cycle of Release Management Support to include Release Planning, Release Build, Release Deployment, Early Life Support, and Release Closure. Coordinate release events, defining maintenance windows, authorized service interruption events for upgrades and patches Conducts readiness reviews for all release events. Analyzes and optimizes release policies and process, ensuring lessons learned are incorporated and efficiencies realized on a quarterly basis Develops processes, scripts, and automation capabilities to enhance the speed of release and lower risk of a release impacting the NG911 system Collaborate and participate in enhancing organizational knowledge management environment Maintain and grow technical skill/product knowledge in release management arena Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to discuss release events and impacts 13. Maintains a release knowledgebase including Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requirements:
Must be able to submit examples of previous release policy/process documentation solely written by candidate for review. Training Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Advanced certification relevant to release management desired. 10-15 years of directly related experience in DevOps and release management required Extensive experience in management of cross-functional technical teams required. Significant experience in release management in medium to large enterprise environments required. Experience in mission critical/high availability IT environments desired. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
