As a 50/50 joint venture between Sony and Honda, SHM was established in Japan on September 28th, 2022, with over 200 employees in Tokyo. Sony Honda Mobility of America, situated in Culver City, California, was established in March 2023, where our dedicated team is working on introducing the electric vehicle, AFEELA, to the market. Position Summary

SHMA is seeking an experienced Competitive Intelligence Analyst to play a pivotal role in the highly anticipated launch of AFEELA in 2026 and then effectively building a strong brand in the market closely aligning with sales goals. This strategic position will lead the execution of research and data analysis of automotive market trends and consumer behavior and shape best practices across the organization. You will be a visionary, orchestrating strategies to solidify SHMA's presence and unlock brand growth.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze Market Trends and Competitive Landscape

Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies within the electric vehicle industry.Monitor and analyze competitors' strategies, products, and market activities to identify opportunities and threats.Evaluate and optimize AFEELA's market positioning by understanding industry benchmarks and best practices.Gather and Interpret Consumer Behavior Data

Gather and interpret consumer behavior data to inform marketing and sales strategies, ensuring alignment with AFEELA's target market and product positioning.Conduct surveys, focus groups, and other research methods to gather detailed consumer insights specific to the electric vehicle market.Analyze consumer purchase behavior, preferences, and trends to identify key drivers and barriers to adoption of AFEELA's products.Develop Strategic Recommendations to Enhance Market Share

Develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations to enhance AFEELA's market share and competitive advantage in the lead-up to the 2026 sedan launch.Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and initiatives based on consumer behavior analysis to boost brand awareness and sales.Qualifications for Position

Bachelor's degree (any relevant field)Minimum of 5 years related work experience in automotive and/or competitive intelligenceExpert knowledge of automotive and/or competitive intelligence landscapeExcellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detailStrong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into compelling insights and recommendationsProficiency in Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, Adobe Analytics, R, Salesforce, and related softwareProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Excellent presentation and communication skillsCollaborative spirit and ability to effectively build relationships across internal and external stakeholdersBenefits

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
