Under general supervision, analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced systems. Duration: 6 months at 20 hours per week. 100% remote The Business Analyst will act as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating the successful delivery of projects that align with the organization's goals and objectives. They will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, as well as facilitating communication between various stakeholders, including business users, project managers, developers, and testers. The Business Analyst will contribute to the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects by ensuring that they align with business goals and objectives. Core Responsibilities: 1. Requirements Elicitation and Analysis: - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand their requirements, needs, and objectives. - Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to identify and document detailed business requirements. - Analyze and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications. - Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential risks in requirements and propose solutions. 2. Documentation: - Create clear and comprehensive requirement documents, including business process diagrams, use cases, user stories, and data flow diagrams. - Develop detailed requirement specifications that can be easily understood by technical and non-technical team members. - Maintain thorough and organized documentation throughout the project lifecycle. 3. Communication and Collaboration: - Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective communication and understanding. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA testers, and project managers, to ensure alignment with business objectives. - Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to convey project status, requirements, and changes. 4. Requirements Management: - Prioritize and manage competing requirements from different stakeholders. - Monitor and manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure that requirements traceability is maintained, linking business objectives to project deliverables. 5. Solution Evaluation and Validation: - Work closely with QA testers to validate that the developed solution meets the specified requirements. - Participate in testing efforts, including user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensure that defects are appropriately documented and resolved. 6. Process Improvement: - Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals. - Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making related to system enhancements or new initiatives. 7. Data Analysis (Optional): - If applicable, conduct data analysis to uncover insights and trends that can inform business decisions. - Collaborate with data teams to define data requirements and ensure accurate data integration. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field - Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in project environments. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels. - Proficiency in requirement elicitation and documentation techniques. - Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.). - Knowledge of business process modeling tools and techniques. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) is a plus. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
