Senior MySQL DBA
for our premier client in
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania .
Education and Experience "Desired Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.Experience diagnosing issues across various infrastructure tiers (application, network, database).Automation experience through job scheduling, scripts, or cron setups.Familiarity with additional RDBMS platforms (DB2, Oracle, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).Experience with configuration management tools like SCCM, Puppet, or Ansible.Background in developing and enhancing training programs.
Must-Have Skills:
Extensive experience in MySQL Database Administration, including architecture, replication, and performance tuning.Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services (EC2 or RDS or Aurora) and cloud deployments using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Terraform.Proficiency in SQL coding, tuning, and shell scripting automation.Experience with MySQL Enterprise Manager.Strong understanding of MySQL storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM) and database maintenance procedures (backup, recovery, migration).Advanced troubleshooting skills and a strong commitment to SDLC/Change-Management principles.Ability to work independently, offering technical expertise with minimal supervision.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:Job Responsibilities:
On-Call Support and Incident Response:
Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation, providing timely resolution for database incidents and handling non-business hours changes.Database Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate and resolve database issues while performing root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems.SLA Compliance:
Process and resolve support requests within SLA requirements, following procedural guidelines and documenting all actions in ServiceNow.Standard Operating Procedures Documentation:
Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive SOPs and knowledgebase articles to streamline processes and improve team efficiency.Proactive System Improvement:
Identify repeating alert trends, propose infrastructure and automation enhancements, and ensure continuous optimization of database systems.Project Leadership and Participation:
Lead and contribute to projects involving cloud migrations, lifecycle management, application modernization, and performance optimization.
