JOB SUMMARYThe material handler will maintain the production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished products. Look for and call out improvements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESContributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.Skilled in inventory control, management of goods, process improvement, and data handling.Responsible for the movement, storage, protection, and control of materials throughout the manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, consumption, and disposal process.Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, and packing.Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventoryConveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply supporting the Kanban program and the flow of resources in production processes through cards used to indicate when to supply materials based on the demand and consumption of the customer.Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.Need Daily Cycle Counts added into the responsibility.Work as directed by Manager.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICIATIONS, and TRAININGSHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver's license and safe driving recordPrevious stock or inventory experience a plusPrevious experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plusOrganizational skillsAbility to read and analyze InformationAdept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneouslyProficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlinesProcess improvement mindsetKnowledge of inventory controlData entry skillsExcellent ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.Well-developed literacy, numeracy and computer skills with a technical aptitude.Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTSExperience with Epicor a plus.Microsoft: Office 365; SharePoint; Teams; Visio; and OneNote preferred.Ability to operate media equipment such as tablets, smartphones, and other electronic equipment.Ability to work with general office equipment.Ability to work with and understand databases a must and the ability to learn technical skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENTShall have essential physical skills; be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ own body weight).Shall have adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills, and hearing to perform the essential functions of the job.Must have enough endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.Will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and in communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.Must be able to listen and respond to questions and instructions.The qualifications, physical demands, and work environment described herein are representative of those an employee will encounter and must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
