This role is a W2 role and will not consider C2C candidates.Due to contractual agreements with the customer, the person who fills this role is required to be a US Citizen.Job SummaryThe Sr Database Engineer will design and maintain databases, increase data storage capacity, and troubleshoot database functionality issues. They will also review database performance issues within the Dentrix Enterprise software application.What You Will DoMaintain and enhance the performance of existing databasesDesign new database solutions that meet business requirements and data storage needsMonitor databases to ensure optimal performancePerform debugging on databases scripts and query optimizations to resolve conflictsCreate and maintain technical documentation related to database design, configuration, performance, and functionalityAdhere to best practices in securely storing, backing up, and archiving dataEnsure databases follow established standards and demonstrate good understanding of database development, administration, and warehousingEvaluate new database technologies and stay up to data in best practices in database engineeringMentor more junior database engineers in best practices of database developmentAttend necessary meetings as part of the agile development process
QualificationsWhat You Will HaveBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent profession working experience5+ years of related professional working experienceExperience with MS SQL Server 2016 - 2022Experience with a SQL Server monitoring toolIn-depth knowledge of Structure Query Language (SQL)Knowledge of C# programming language preferred, but not requiredExcellent knowledge of database development: data definition language, encryption, querying, normalization, transactions, indexing, and data manipulationKnowledge of database administrations: dynamic management views, auditing, resource governor, clustering, always-on, replication, log shipping, monitoring, and performance tuningKnowledge of database warehousing, data migration, and data architectureExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communication
The posted range for this position is
$82,000 - $105,000
which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a
10% bonus
