Our team is seeking a curious and analytical problem solver to deliver actionable, strategic insights across the wide range of problem statements that our global organization faces. The range of problems to tackle span product, marketing, fraud, pricing, supply chain, logistics, operations, to customer service. This analytics leader will work directly with senior leadership across product, business, and operations, partnering with a team of analysts, business intelligence engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to deliver actionable insights with immediate impact to customers and the P&L.
This role requires the day-to-day, consistent application of these abilities:
The ability to work backwards from customers - e.g. able to see and explain how customer behaviors show up (or don’t) in the data available.
Proficiency with the multiple business models managed by our global businesses and their respective P&Ls.
The ability to define the right analytical questions that will efficiently enable the key decisions needed, quickly driving clarity and structure to ambiguous problem statements.
Comfort in exercising strong judgement on where simplification is needed versus when nuance is required.
Equally comfortable where data is available (e.g. developing detailed and granular customer behavior metrics and dashboards) as well as where the metrics are not yet defined, the data is not available, or cannot be directly measured.
Effective verbal and written communications to a wide range of audiences and partners. Adept at i) translating high level customer and business problems in to analytics approach and data requirements for execution and ii) translating complex analyses into effective communications to inform and influence senior Amazon leadership.
Able to raise and maintain a high bar on analytics accuracy through efficient and scalable mechanisms.
Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our business needs.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of business or financial analysis, product costing, procurement, or a quantitative role experience
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Bachelor's degree
Experience with SQL
5+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience
2+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in online advertising/marketing/sales/digital media
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field
MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
