In this role, the Equipment Operator will operate a material handler or excavator to move metal throughout the yard. To be successful, the Equipment Operator must be able to work independently to accomplish daily tasks. Ultimately, an operator is a team player and possesses a strong work ethic.
II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operates material handler and/or grapple crane to move materialComplete all required daily equipment reportsPerform daily maintenance and inspection on equipmentAdhere to operating and health and safety protocolsPerform other duties as assigned
III. Required Skills / AbilitiesAbility to work independently as well as within a team environmentAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to handle stressful situations, manage time and multitask
IV. Education & ExperiencePrevious experience using a material handler and/or grapple crane a plusHigh school diploma or GED
V. Other Job Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the Material Handler Operator will be working in an outdoor environment. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts and will be exposed to all weather conditions. The noise level in the environment can be loud and will require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
