We are seeking a personable, adaptable candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills for the position of Human Resource Generalist who will concentrate on the onboarding process and employee relations. This role is responsible for conducting and overseeing the employee onboarding process as well as collecting and analyzing employee relations issues. The Human Resource Generalist is expected to have strong organization and conflict management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in the employee relations function with experience in building employee relationships within a business as well as good understanding of the HR department functions and requirements.
The human resource generalist will need to have knowledge of employment law and adhere to agency regulations at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General:
Handle and maintain confidential HR records and files.
Cross train in other specialized areas for professional development to include but not limited to; payroll, workers compensation, benefits.
Provide backup of duties for HR team.
Maintain employee confidence by keeping human resource information confidential.
Onboarding:
Welcome newly accepted candidates and execute the onboarding journey; manage all new hire paperwork from the initial acceptance of an offer to the hand off to the on-site manager to ensure a positive experience for new employees and a smooth start to employment. This includes but not limited to monitoring and assisting during onboarding and follow up to complete updating information in electronic systems to confirm the candidate is a hired individual.
Process candidate background check and screening process to include but not limited to; fingerprints, SEL check, education verification, exclusion checks, driving record, reference check (internal and/or outsource) and medical/drug testing.
Host onboarding sessions with candidates, completing day one required documentation, providing materials, access information and ensuring new hires have the necessary technical assistance to get started on tasks for a successful experience.
Collaborate with Training Coordinator to ensure training curriculums for new hire is set up and no additional training is required prior to new employee leaving the human resource department.
Employee Relations :
Collaborate and communicate with employees to understand concerns.
Counsel and provide guidance and support to supervisors to resolve issues with employees.
Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
Conducts initial interview and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; inform the appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of law and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations and human resources.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and two (2) years related experience and/or training, or an Associate's degree in Business or related field and four (4) years related experience and or training.

$21.00-$23.00/hr
