Halvik is looking for a talented web developer to add to their dynamic team supporting a highly visible federal contract. The right individual for this role will be self-motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work and is a team player. The developer will work closely with our Technical Lead for guidance, Senior Developers to bounce ideas off each other and seeks help when needed, to deliver an outstanding final project.
What You Will Do:
Implement features and functions available, to include developing prototypes and architectures for new concepts and technologies. Build and maintain functional websites and applications.
Scripting new functionality, and/or debugging, improving and testing of existing ColdFusion, JavaScript code along with SQL querying.
Perform code edits on incoming HTML documents and convert non-HTML documents to adhere to web standards and Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards.
Perform remediation of existing html and pdf files as per 508 accessibility standards.
Create wireframes, prototypes and designs based on the vision from the client.
Develop UI components using a variety of technologies. Ensure web sites and applications and are accessible, ensure troubleshooting for both internal and customer needs.
Prioritize software development projects, setting timelines and assigning tasks to team.
Creating conceptual data models for database interaction.
What You Need:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Additional experience may substitute.
US Citizen or permanent residency, with ability to obtain a clearance of Public Trust.
3-5 years of experience developing web sites/applications using ColdFusion, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, MS SQL and JavaScript. Knowledge in .Net /C# is a huge plus.
1-2 years of experience in 508 Web Accessibility Standards.
Experience with SQL, bug fixing, deployments and all phases of the software development lifecycle required.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS6.
Solid understanding of Web infrastructure. · Comfortable with maintenance of existing code base as well as new development.
Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while developing and successful solution.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban, Azure DevOps. Knowledge in multiple versions of ColdFusion software (preferably version 2021) with understanding of Cold Fusion Best Practices and Design Patterns.
Designs user interface mockups and web graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator
Creates accessible 508 compliant PDFs · Writes regular expressions to accelerate HTML conversions
