For the health of our community ... we are proud to be a tobacco-free campus Responsibilities: Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona has been treating patients with neurological diseases since 1962. St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center is a 595 registered bed facility. Housed within is Barrow Neurological Institute (Barrow), the nations largest neuroscience center with 176 dedicated beds, including a 64-bed Neuro-Intensive Care. Barrow is also a leader in graduate medical education in the clinical neurosciences with a total of 19 residency/fellowship programs where 8 are ACGME accredited. The Barrow Database Program Manager performs quality and management performance improvement activities, information tracking, trending and reporting, project facilitation and statistical analysis to identify areas of opportunity to improve residency program outcomes. Works in a team environment to design, build data fields, implement accrediting board requirements for assigned databases/registries to support various reporting and program initiatives. Responsible for departmental database(s) management, training, and utilization. Maintains knowledge of software definitions to ensure compliance with all database requirements. Possesses advanced knowledge of all phases of assigned areas to abstract data to input and maintain data for annual reporting periods. Maximizes the use of available data, for information tracking, trending and reporting, project facilitation and statistical analysis for clinical and basic research projects. Maintains data integrity and regulatory and confidentiality as applicable. Responsibilities Include: Collects and formats data for submission to various current and future dashboards including the indicators being monitored, the data source, and the findings, conclusions and actions. Coordinates Academic Affairs and hospital quality improvement activities. Identifies quality indicators, appropriate data sources, enters data as needed and generates reports to facilitate program and departmental decision-making or quality review. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills. Responsible for departmental database(s) and education website pages such as Management, Training, Utilization, an responsible for building and ongoing maintenance of databases in conjunction with management. Works with program coordinators and clinical providers to identify data elements to be collected and reported on. Assures database(s) & registry (ies) accurately maintained, identifies data management needs. Collects, analyzes, and reports statistical data in a timely and accurate manner. Implements and maintains accurate and timely data entry into database system(s) and data abstraction is accurate, timely, thorough, and within established guidelines. Collects and formats data for reporting and/or submission to assigned areas (including hospital, corporate, regulatory agencies, etc. by maximizing the availability and usefulness of health related data sources and performing appropriate Generates reports in a risk-adjusted format to compare outcomes to regional & national level as appropriate. Assures report content and display reflects the needs of the decision makers.

Qualifications: Three (3) years experience in a technical position with querying experience and SQL exposure with increasing responsibilities. Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Proficient computer skills Preferred: Experience with application development using some or all of the following technologies: MS SQL, T-SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, .Net, C#, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and basic HTTP protocols. Master's degree is preferred. Presentation Skills preferred.
