Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a
Network Engineer
to join an expanding team in
Fort Worth, TX . We are looking for a Network Engineer to maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure reliable network operations.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver who has demonstrated great attention to detail; can work well individually and with a team; and can be trained to become a resident expert in the HTI approach to Railroad Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.Maintenance and Management of firewall, routers, switches, and wireless devices.Management of network security tools and appliances including Firewalls, AV systems, MFA systems, and Monitoring systems.Regular reviews of network devices/assets and their current revision levels.Coordination of change events with other network engineers and teams as well as managers.Team discussions for design and remediation of target/trouble environments.Identifying and troubleshooting network performance issues.Implementations and documentation of new network infrastructure and network changesUpdating technology specific documents.Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Working knowledge and experience with WAN, LAN, WLAN, SAN, and VoIP networks.Network Technologies and skills must include experience and knowledge of: Dynamic Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), TCP/IP, Redundant Gateway Protocols (HSRP, VRRP), L2 technologies and protocols (VLANS, STP, ARP, LACP).Working knowledge of Firewalls and related technologies/operations.Working knowledge and experience with Network Security.Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP preferred and any additional non-cisco certifications.Experience with Cisco Network and Security hardware and appliances.Experience with Fortinet Firewalls is a plus.Experience with supporting Virtual Networking in a datacenter environment.Experience with telecommunications systems, VoIP systems in particular.Understanding of internal and external DNS.Understanding of Microsoft AD.Understanding of industry standard Network Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and PRTG.Network Automation and or scripting/coding is a plus.Pre-Employment Requirements:
Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.Physical Requirements:
