You will get to work independently and/or with technical staff including employees and contractors to monitor, troubleshoot and support all facets of the communications infrastructure including LAN and WAN networking, Cisco Wireless network, Cisco UCS and Nutanix datacenters, departmental VLANs, encompassing 100 sites within NYC and Westchester

ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities

This is a technical role with functional responsibility to apply your network technology knowledge, skills, and expertise to support our corporate headquarters, data centers, and control centers network.You will work independently and/or with technical staff including employees and contractors to monitor, troubleshoot and support all facets of the communications infrastructure including LAN and WAN networking, Cisco Wireless network, Cisco UCS and Nutanix datacenters, departmental VLANs, encompassing 100+ sites within NYC and WestchesterSupport problem resolution, investigate network performance issues, and ensure consistent adherence to operating policy and proceduresApply your hands-on experience of IP network support and operation to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the businessYou will apply your knowledge of OSI model layers 1, 2, and 3, and the network components of each layer along with the higher OSI layers to diagnose application issuesParticipate in the device upgrades, replacements, support network technologies, and maintain deployment plans and schedulesMonitor and address infrastructure alerts, collect and interpret packet captures, and analyze various protocols for performance and/or troubleshoot network issuesSupport and maintain network management and monitoring tools to streamline and automate processes and/or repetitive tasksAssess the impact of vendor vulnerability announcements and work to remediate any exposuresAuthor network documentation including network diagrams, policies and procedures for management and monitoring of the data and voice networksAssist in developing and tracking project and program budgetsMust be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergenciesPerform other related tasks and assignments as requiredQualificationsRequired Education/Experience

Master's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (2) years of IT experience orBachelor's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (3) years of IT experience orAssociate's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (5)years of IT experience orHigh School Diploma/GED and minimum of (7)years of IT experiencePreferably in InformationTechnologyRelevant Work Experience

Strong understanding of architectural concepts and practices leading to solutions that are reliable, maintainable, reusable, scalable and extensible RequiredUnderstanding of cyber security principles RequiredHands-on experience with Cisco IOS based routers, switches, Wireless APs as well as datacenter NX-OS based switches RequiredWorking knowledge of BGP and IGP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, 802.1q) primarily Cisco environment RequiredProven experience troubleshooting system issues and outages as well as conducting root cause analysis RequiredProficient with Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI) to perform tasks such as configuring, troubleshooting, and completing IOS upgrades RequiredDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills RequiredExperience in network monitoring, management, packet analysis tools RequiredKnowledge of network management and monitoring tools such as BMC Truesight Network Automation, Netbrain, DxNetOps, DHCP, InfoBlox, Cisco Smart Software Manager, Cisco Call Manager or NetMotion PreferredKnowledge of Powershell, Java, XML, Git, Azure DevOps PreferredPractical experience using network automation tools and scripting PreferredSkills And Abilities
