The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) C4ISR Systems Division is seeking an experienced Cyberspace Engineer with electronics, embedded systems, test, and/or secure systems design experience. You will be part of the engineering team assessing government weapon system designs and testing for certification. SDL works with the Department of Defense and industry to create novel solutions that impact national defense in space, air, land, and sea. This position will be in Logan, UT or Ogden, UT.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure systems are designed, built, and fielded with levels of resilience to enable nominal operations in a cyber-contested environment. The assessments will also be part of the system’s certification process. These certification activities are critical to the success of the program. Your main duties will include assessing system architectures, assessing firmware, creating test environments, and the design, development, and implementation of vulnerability mitigations.
You will:
Work closely with the customer Engineering and Program Management teams and with other UARC/FFRDC teams
Participate in weapon system requirements analysis, threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, secure architecture development, testing, and integration of cybersecurity related systems, tools, and applications as part of the overall development process
Create repeatable test procedures for assessing weapon system adherence to critical compliance requirements
Provide technical expertise on application security design and implementation
Develop custom software components, tools, and test capabilities
May provide expertise on security operations for weapon systems
Required Qualifications:
Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering, cybersecurity, or computer science or an ABET accredited IT degree
At least 10 years of relevant cybersecurity or engineering (electronics, embedded software, or software design) experience
Demonstrated knowledge of current cybersecurity related threats, cyber defense tools, and TTPs
Leadership experience interacting with customers and technically directing cyber engineers
Understanding of DoD acquisition or R&D test engineering
Understanding of or experience with secure system design
Experience with at least one programming language
Familiarity with secure software development processes
Understanding of cyber risk definition and management
Strong team and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
Must be able to travel occasionally to government, contractor, and customer facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in cyber, test, or aerospace systems engineering
Advanced degree in engineering with an emphasis in cyber
MBSE/Systems engineering experience
Enterprise cloud cyber experience
Experience in embedded system requirements analysis
DoD program office experience
Experience in red teaming or penetration testing
Hands-on experience in cyber operations
Holds an active CISSP certification
Active DoD clearance
