SR NETWORK ENGINEER

Under minimum supervision, implements mid to large scale complex network projects including Hyper Convergence and Software-Defined Architecture. Assesses, designs, implements, troubleshoots, and supports a wide range of infrastructure technologies including Cisco Routing and Switching, Avaya Switching, Firewalling, WAN/LAN, VoIP, Unified Communications, Cisco UCS, and Aruba Wireless. Performs network assessments, capacity planning, and architecture reviews. Conducts routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develops and maintains appropriate configuration, design and SOP documentation. Works with lessor experienced team members promoting growth and team synergy. Acts as a liaison between Temple University and the Health System. Provides 24x7 technical support and responsiveness at all times.
Education
Bachelors Degree: in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field (Required)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
5 Years experience and a working knowledge of enterprise, border and optimization management architectures/systems (VMWare, NetApp, AD, Citrix and F5/NetScaler). (Required)
5 Years experience with hands-on experience in telecommunications or network engineering (Required)
5 years experience in IT infrastructure or related IT experience (Required)
5 years experience in Network and Telephony engineering, design, and implementation experience (Required)
General experience and knowledge working with LAN switch technology (including large scale LAN network, STP, VTP domain management, network test methods and equipment) (Required)
License/Certifications
CNE - Certified Novell Engineer (Required) or CCNP - Cisco Cert Net Professional (Required) or CCDP - Cisco Cert Design Profesional (Required) or CCIE - Cisco Cert Internetwork Expert (Required)
MA+ - Microsoft A+ Cert (Preferred) or NETWORK+ - Network + Certification (Preferred) or MCSE - Microsoft Cert Solutions Exp (Preferred)
