This 100+ bed community medical center is ranked among the top performers in New Mexico in several key patient care categories. The Surgical Tech will work in a state-of-the-art facility that offers a wide range of inpatient acute care services such as Emergency Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Heart Care, Critical Care Medicine, Pharmacy, and Surgical Services. This hospital holds a Level III Trauma Designation and is an Accredited Chest Pain Center. They are also fully accredited by The Joint Commission and have been ranked as a Top National Performer on Key Quality Measures for over 5 years.
Surgical tech carries many other responsibilities in the OR including passing instruments to the Surgeon when needed during a procedure, providing solutions and medications, passing along tissue samples, and much more. Hands on experience working side by side with a highly trained surgeon within an acute care facility is extremely important as you will be handling important aspects of each and every surgical procedure including taking place of circulator when they are not present. In this case, the Surgical Tech will transport patients to the OR and help position patient on the operating table to prepare for surgery.
