Travel-Unit: MedSurg - 6th Floor- # of Beds: 42- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 occasional 1:6-very rarely happens- Required certifications: BLS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients : Primarily a Medical floor with a little surgical overflow. Respiratory, GI, anything medical thatyou wouldn't do surgery on, behavioral health- if pts been in ER for more than 1 day will room up here to work on d/c plan.- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience. Must have EPIC experience. Must be able to read andinterpret tele. Must be willing to take students, may be precept new travelers- please note on interview they are willing.- Are RNs required to titrate drips: no- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin, PCAs, morphine drips.- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge Nurse on each shift- very rarely takes patients but will if there is a need. Day shift alsohas an ADT nurse that helps with admits, discharges, and tasking.About LanceSoft
