Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will actively participate in the day to day Human Resources needs of the Organization with guidance from the Vice President of Human Resources and the Manager of Human Resources Manager. The position will report to the of Manager of Human Resources, but will work daily with the Enterprise Human Resources Team. Responsibilities will largely be at the Organization level, but will assist in Enterprise areas as needed. This role is largely independent and the successful candidate will be passionate about supporting and driving the Company’s Values, RIGHT: Respect, Integrity, Growth, Honesty and Teamwork.

Work Performed:

Responsible for recruiting efforts.

Responsible for Workers Compensation Reporting and Administration.

Assist Enterprise Human Resources Generalist in working with the Business Units in implementing training and development plans for employees.

Assist with the Performance Review process; Annual and Progression.

Update employee records in the Enterprise HRIS system.

Assist with ensuring the Organization maintains detailed job descriptions.

Ensure Corporate HR policies are followed throughout the organization; Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards as needed to employees. Help drive the commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Respond to and address employees’ questions and concerns and respond in a timely manner escalating to the Vice President of Human Resources as needed. ? Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in local and State legislation.

Administer FMLA and disability and keep tracking system updated.

Maintain the organization’s Commercial Driver’s License program.

Participate in unemployment fact findings and appeal hearings. Contact necessary witnesses and register them for hearings. Complete first request of separation forms and provide all necessary documentation.

Maintain filing and purging old files for storage or shredding.

Prepare and provide to the Payroll Department all payroll notification reports for changes to an employee’s payroll in payroll deductions, personal information, workers’ compensation, STD, leave of absences.

Create medical files for new employees, maintain Hepatitis result spreadsheet. Contact employees about their immunity status and follow up on consent refusal forms. Coordinate with departments to set up vaccine appointments.

Qualifications:

Associate degree or HR Certification and minimum 5 years in a Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter role focused on recruitment of all levels of employees from entry-level non-exempt positions to Senior Leadership positions.

Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist

Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems

Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems

Solid understanding of HR laws and payroll process

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good problem-solving abilities

Team management skills

Skills related to interpersonal communication: listening, speaking and writing

Excellent decision-making skills

Sound judgment

Attention to detail

Working knowledge and understanding of labor and employment law, organizational development and best practices

Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.

Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, pre-employment physical, background check, and have a valid driver’s license.
