Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This includes the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. Primary responsibility for payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS support. The HR Generalist will also handle responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.
Essential Functions:Coordinate and perform the weekly employee payroll processing. Make employee payroll changes in the payroll system and other systems as required. Assist managers with the management of the time clock system as part of the payroll process.Back up the HR Assistant with the benefits enrollment process for employees. Assist with coordination and deployment of various employee benefit and wellness initiatives. Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve any issues.Leverage the HRIS software to ensure we are maximizing its potential for managing our workforce. Point person for the employee HR SharePoint site.Assist with employment recruiting efforts. Assist as needed with managing the on-line Applicant Tracking System and ensure we are utilizing the system to its full potential. Assist with coordinating the set-up and onboarding of new employees. Utilize our HRIS systems to successfully onboard and set up new employees. Assist with orientation of new employees as needed.Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee personnel files strict confidence. Point person for employee change of status processes (name or address change, marital change, promotion, salary changes, benefit elections, etc.); process changes in insurance or other benefits programs as needed.Conduct research for human resource related projects and initiatives. Maintain and report on key HR metrics such as turnover rates, absenteeism, employee satisfaction, and performance data. Work closely with the HR Assistant to provide back-up functions as needed.Develop and implement programs aimed at improving employee morale, engagement, and retention. Organize employee events and activities to foster a positive workplace culture.Must maintain predictable and reliable attendance.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business/Human Resources or related or 2 years working in Human Resources department for each year not completed required.SHRM-CP certification or PHR or ability to achieve within 6 months required.Experience:
Minimum of 3 years working in an HR Generalist or similar HR role.Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and best practices. Must be familiar with FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, FLSA, EEOC and other federal and state employment and payroll laws.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsSkills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.Ability to adapt to change.Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.Physical Requirements :
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.Work Environment:
Professional banking environment.Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work area.
