About the role

As the Senior Business Development Manager for the West Region at Nucleus Biologics™, you will assist the Sales team and report into the Commercial Director.This individual will ideally sit out of the San Diego area, flexibility for remote work based on traveling to visit with customers and other business based needs.What you'll do

As the Senior Business Development Manager at Nucleus Biologics™, you will drive the development and execution of business strategies and work closely with cross-functional departments to identify partnership opportunities, cultivate strategic alliances, and build relationships with key stakeholders in the cell and gene therapy and life sciences ecosystem. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for partnerships, a designated territory, and working closely with the Director as a player/coach within the commercial team. We are looking for a proven business development manager who will bring the disruptive Nucleus Biologics product and service offering to the CGT community.RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Business Development:Partner with the Commercial Director on the development and execution of the business development strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic alliances, partnerships, and collaborations that enhance Nucleus Biologics' position and reach in the market.Oversee negotiations, contract development, and deal structuring.Collaborate closely with marketing and operations teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of business development strategies.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and industry influencers.Represent the company at industry events and conferences.Territory Management:

Oversee a designated West region territory, managing relationships with key clients and stakeholders with overall responsibility to manage the business development activities for the target territory.Develop and execute on territory sales plan with the objective to achieve annual sales targets through the closing of new deals.Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, market analysis, and customer engagement.Responsible for building and continued increase in the opportunity pipeline through a metric driven process.Identify, open new leads and close business development deals with new and existing clients; promoting company visibility, growth and profitability.Constructively work with Commercial Director and with the internal teams at Nucleus Biologics to identify opportunities, address challenges, and optimize territory coverage.Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and recommendations on targeted areas of business growth such as in cell therapy, gene therapy, vaccine manufacturing, or bioprocessing.Sales Team Leadership Support:

Work alongside the Commercial Director as a player/coach within the commercial team to provide guidance, coaching and co-development strategies that will drive results.Collaborate with sales operations and marketing to drive continuous improvement and enhance team performance to ultimately achieve revenue targets.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree Required in a technical field of studyAdvanced degree, laboratory training or technical certification in Biology/Immunology/Biomedical Engineering is a plus.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development, strategic alliances, or related roles.Experience selling in the life sciences industry, preferably media and cell & gene therapy.Startup background preferred: comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements, with no hesitation to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed to help solve problems with a positive attitude.Established and networkable relationships within the CGT and related communities.True territory developer and hunter mentality with experience in maintaining meaningful and frequent customer engagement points. This should occur in customer centric manner to execute project deliverables and grow business relationships.Demonstrated experience in negotiating and closing complex deals and partnerships.Exhibits strong territory leadership and interdisciplinary communication skills. These skills will allow to succinctly align with internal project management team regarding action items for project initiatives and executable goals.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong attention to detail and organization with a process mindset.Experience in ISO13485 or cGMP manufacturing environment is a plus.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines.Ability to operate Microsoft and related application suites, including CRM.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel to and from Nucleus Biologics offices or customer/vendor locations (likely 40-50%)

The pay range for this role is:

130,000 - 150,000 USD per year (San Diego, CA)
