Job Description

This position is responsible for performing raw materials inventory management planning as part of the procurement team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining optimal raw material inventory levels using MRP and lean inventory management tools

Placement, management, and entry of purchase orders, as well as communicating purchase order status with suppliers

Performing root cause analysis on delivery failures

Coordinating inventory transfers between facilities and customers expedites requests

Participate in continuous improvement activities to accomplish plant business goals and objectives in terms of safety, quality, customer service, and cost and staff development

Collaborate with teams such as Customer Experience and Response, Operations Planning, Finance, Engineering, IT, Research, Development and Innovation, Logistics and other manufacturing facilities

Lead defined, medium-sized projects

Requires ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, offer solutions, and implement improvements to achieve the desired results; Analyze and report inventory levels to plan, recommend and implement corrective action

Develop and implement effective processes for new product offerings/enhancements and ramp-up/ramp-down plans for product changes

Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment and safe employee work habits, and maintain a respectful work environment

Qualifications:Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required, a 4 year degree is highly desired

3+ years’ experience working within purchasing, or equivalent supply chain, and/or inventory management experience

Requires ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, offer solutions, and implement improvements to achieve the desired results

Solid understanding of information systems that support supply chain and manufacturing operations

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and databases

Must have demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication

Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, analytical and conceptual skills

Excellent time management and experience prioritizing tasks and projects effectively

Project management experience preferred

Experience using and teaching lean tools and techniques such as 5S, 5 why, A3 thinking, pull/kanban systems, and kaizen preferred

JDE or ERP systems experience preferred
