The Project Lead Buyer is responsible having all materials and parts for the assigned projects sourced within the financial, time and quality goals, in cooperation with the local and global procurement teams.For selected key materials she or he contributes to the supplier selection, development and overall supplier management. This includes requests for quotation, negotiation, PO placement and follow up.

Main Tasks:

Keeps overview and track over all materials and parts of the assigned projects and ensures that all materials and parts are ordered in time Contributing and leading for selected materials the supplier scouting, pre-selection and negotiation process Develops in cooperation with global commodity managers strategic commodity plan, considering the North American master production schedule Conduct in depth cost and spend analysis to develop cost savings initiatives through various costreductionoptions Analyze and execute various sourcing levers to reduce Total Cost of Ownership and Total Landed Cost for selected key materials Partner with Global commodity Leads on global sourcing projects Develop and negotiate for critical time-sensitive commodities supplier contracts Issue and follow-up of purchase orders for selected key suppliers Work closely with, planning, production and operational buyers to ensure material availability Develop and execute a plan to quickly and effectively manage a supply interruption Develop and maintain procurement project reporting

Requirements/Skill Set:

Bachelors degree Minimum of 5 years strategic or technical buying experience Working knowledge of aerospace standards in accordance with ISO / AS Comprehensive understanding of construction materials such as composite,alloy,and machined parts Strong knowledge of the key aspects of the RFI/RFQ sourcing process Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders (manufactures, production, legal) Ability to be a proactive, resourceful, and a problem solver Ability to work from Huntsville oce or manufacturing facility in Decatur 10% domestic travel required
