The Senior Business Operations Analyst functions as an integral member of the James Business Operations team at The James. The Business Operations Senior Analyst, James Business Development (the Department) provides comprehensive support of the Department including decision support and implementation of strategic growth plans, operational, financial, administrative, and other business activities across the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) system. This includes business analytics and oversight of key financial and operational metrics for Business Development programs and initiatives, including the James Cancer Network (JCN), Destination Medicine (DM), and Digital Pathology (DP).The Business Operations Senior Analyst monitors and influences the financial and operational performance and direction of the Department and promotes resource stewardship. The Senior Analyst identifies financial opportunities and issues, makes improvements that will enhance organization profitability, and maintains financial processes/procedures to ensure long-term viability and growth of the Business Development programs. They are responsible for developing and translating financial budget and operational metrics into meaningful action for the Department. The Senior Analyst works with all members of the Department to promote OSUWMCs tripartite mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care while ensuring the financial viability of the programs and hospital.Minimum QualificationsFor Hire:

Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or related field; 4 or more years of accounting or finance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; with significant experience gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data; excellent interpersonal, communication skills and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; demonstrated analytical skills that emphasize critical and inquisitive thinking with a high level of attention to detail; proficiency with excel and data base applications; including applying basic mathematical functions, experience creating and formatting pivot tables and lookups; proficiency with most Microsoft office applications.Ongoing:

Maintain licensure (if applicable). Demonstrated competency to meet essential job functions. Ongoing participation in professional organizations that provide continuing educational opportunities and promote professional advancement. Demonstrated ability to function as an interdisciplinary team member who actively contributes to the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of healthcare services to meet the oncology needs of the patients, families and community served.Desired Qualifications:

Graduate degree from an accredited school in business, healthcare administration or other related field is strongly preferred. Experience with Workday; experience with OSU Policies and Procedures.The Senior Analyst serves as a dedicated business resource to guide and provide administrative and decision support for the Department. The position is responsible for business analytics and oversight for the Department, including:Fiscal management: budget development and performance, capital requests, month end reporting, variance analysis and on-going forecasting and trends analysis;Monthly and quarterly financial reporting for Department programs;Invoicing and maintaining other financial processes/procedures for Department programs;Operational metrics, tools (internal and external benchmarking), and dashboards;Position control management: submits position requests, reviews staff payroll activities and initiates/maintains costing allocations in accordance with budget/function;Resource stewardship initiatives;Contract management: maintain external agreements and internal service letter agreements (SLAs) and memorandum of understandings (MOUs);Project/operational support;Audit coordination and compliance;Strategic planning; andAll other administrative and operational management matters specific to the Department.The Senior Analyst identifies financial opportunities and issues and implements improvements that will enhance Department operations and sustainability. The Senior Analyst develops, aligns, and operationalizes the Departments clinical, academic, and research activities to support the overall James Cancer Program goals and to ensure the implementation of key OSUCCC-The James initiatives through interdisciplinary collaboration.The Senior Analyst promotes an environment that facilitates patient and staff satisfaction and a culture that is conducive to team development and professional growth. The Senior Analyst develops and maintains effective working relationships with Department clinical and non-clinical staff, administrators, and the other members of the interdisciplinary Department and Business Operations teams. The Senior Analyst collaborates across OSUWMC with other administrators, leaders and staff to provide fiscal and analytics oversight and expertise within the Department across the health system. The Senior Analyst participates in professional organizations and workgroups to promote the image of the organization externally.
