Job Summary:

The Director/Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for setting and overseeing the strategic direction of information technology (IT) within the healthcare system. The Director/CIO will drive innovation, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure the security and compliance of all IT systems while aligning technology initiatives with the organization’s mission to provide exceptional patient care. This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in healthcare IT, an understanding of healthcare regulations, and the ability to lead large, complex technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the hospital’s overall mission and business goals.Lead the digital transformation efforts to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and data management.Oversee the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, including electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, and cloud-based solutions.

IT Operations Management:Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of the hospital's IT infrastructure.Oversee the management and continuous improvement of all IT systems, including clinical, administrative, and financial applications.Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other federal and state laws.

Data Security & Compliance:Lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategies to protect patient data and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.Ensure the integrity and privacy of electronic medical records (EMR) and other sensitive information.

Team Leadership & Development:Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team capable of executing the hospital’s technology strategy.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT department.Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and service providers.

Financial Management:Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investment in technology.Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors to optimize technology spend.Ensure transparency and accountability in all IT expenditures.

Stakeholder Engagement:Act as a key advisor to the CEO and other senior executives on IT-related matters.Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry groups, and technology partners.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within a healthcare environment.Extensive knowledge of healthcare IT systems, including EHR, EMR, and PACS, as well as an understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).Proven experience in leading digital transformation initiatives in a healthcare setting.Strong understanding of cybersecurity challenges and solutions in healthcare.Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.Certification in healthcare IT (e.g., CHCIO, CPHIMS) is a plus.

$200,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
