A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Product Design and User Interface Patent Associate Attorney to join its team in Nashville, TN. This role involves working on patent preparation and prosecution related to cutting-edge technologies such as software, artificial intelligence, IoT, networking, and quantum technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong academic achievements, industry experience, and a law firm background, along with excellent writing and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to software, artificial intelligence, IoT, networking, and quantum technologies.Conduct thorough patent searches and analyze technical documents to determine patentability.Assist clients in the design and execution of intellectual property strategies, particularly in product design and user interface technologies.Work closely with inventors, engineers, and in-house legal teams to draft patent applications.Manage patent portfolios and guide patent infringement and validity matters.Respond to Office Actions from the USPTO and ensure compliance with patent laws and regulations.Collaborate with senior attorneys to provide legal advice and strategies on patent-related matters.Assist with patent litigation support and other intellectual property-related legal work as needed.Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, ideally within a law firm setting.Bachelor or advanced degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.Experience with software-related technologies, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), networking, and/or quantum technologies.Preferred Skills and Experience:

Strong knowledge of patent law and familiarity with USPTO procedures.Experience drafting and prosecuting patents in the fields of software, AI, IoT, and quantum technologies.Ability to analyze complex technical documents and draft precise, clear legal documentation.Familiarity with product design and user interface patents.Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on client interaction and collaboration.Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment.Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in at least one state, preferably Tennessee, or the ability to become admitted.USPTO registration is required.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
