Salary Band: $105,000 - $135,000Department: Human ResourcesReports To: Vice President of Shared ServicesSupervisory Duties:Directly oversees all Human Resources roles and responsibilities and activities of the Culture Ambassador.Summary:
Plan and carry out policies and functions relating to all phases of Human Resources activity such as employment, compensation, benefits, learning and development and wellness by performing the following duties and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the staff. Accountable for creating and maintaining a Best Place to Work culture which attracts and retains top talent.Essential Duties:
Accountable for corporate culture. Serve as an advisor to the Senior Management team around cultural initiatives.Foster an environment that is built around Servant Heart Leadership.Build relationships throughout the company that proactively manages associate needs balanced with corporate objectives. Serve as a trusted resource for management around all associate matters.Recruit, interview, select (with department head input) and hire to fill vacant positions, as needed.Oversee the orientation process of new hires.Oversee the training processes of both current staff and new hires.Oversee the record keeping of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, pay increases, disciplinary actions and terminations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.Prepare financial analysis of employment costs to plan for the next year.Manage associate benefit plans with insurance broker and vendors. Review plans for effectiveness. Assist CFO with renewals and benefit offerings.Oversee exit interview process to determine reason behind separations and address issues.Oversee the preparation of reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and government investigations.Oversee contracting with outside suppliers to provide employment and HR-related services.Oversee the administration of assessments offered in screening and hiring applicants to ensure compliance with state and federal laws as well as meeting PolyJohn’s needs.Conduct training in Human Resources areas.Oversee the administration of PolyJohn’s retirement plans ensuring they meet with all legal requirements and are operating in accordance with plan documents.Develop and oversee the coordination of a corporate Wellness Program.Oversee the coordination of the Job Posting policy.Assist in the communication of benefits.Assist in counseling and directing managers and associates on employment laws and company policies.Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.Write directives advising department heads and managers of company policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, associate benefits, and other HR related matters.Consult legal counsel to ensure that policies and severe disciplinary actions comply with federal and state laws.Study legislation to assess Human Resources issues.Assist in the administration of the Job Evaluation and Salary Administration program. Responsible for the development and coordination of job descriptions and the placement of positions within pay bands.Assist in the administration and development of associate benefits programs.Assist in developing and maintaining good associate relations, ensuring the uniform and equitable applications of PolyJohn policies and procedures.Investigate associate complaints and suggestions, counsel with associates and management regarding proper procedures to follow to resolve all issues. Assist in interpreting policy to be applied.Responsible for counseling associates on career paths.Oversee the development and communication of career programs.Remain informed on personnel-related needs of the various departments and divisions.Oversee annual participation in the Indiana Best Places to Work competition. Consult with Senior Management on survey results and goals.Oversee Affirmative Action Plan.Oversee Workers Compensation Plan.Create, update, and oversee PolyJohn pandemic plan.Other Duties:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related fieldMinimum of 5 years’ experience within HR ManagementStrong HR legal backgroundThe position of Human Resource director is “exempt” from overtime pay.
