With the April 2024 U.S. approval of our first drug XOLREMDI (mavorixafor), we have made great progress in advancing our patient-centric mission and in evolving the company into a fully integrated pharmaceutical company. But there is so much left to do! We are continuing to explore global opportunities for mavorixafor in its first indication, while also advancing mavorixafor for people with chronic neutropenia through an ongoing pivotal, global Phase 3 clinical trial. In addition, our research team in Vienna, Austria is focusing on new drug discovery and examining the genetic causes of chronic neutropenic disorders.

Your Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the COO, the Vice President, Information Technology is responsible for X4’s IT function to ensure that our commercial and development business operations are prepared to grow efficiently and effectively as they scale.
The Vice President, IT will build and lead the Information Technology team and ensure the business has the data and infrastructure it needs to make decisions in a timely, accurate and flexible manner.
This includes, but is not limited to, management of the business systems strategy, projects, infrastructure/operations, architecture, governance, risk and program management, data warehouse, cybersecurity, applications, and business partner projects and relationships.
The qualified candidate will view their position and the function as strategic to the company’s success, be focused on bringing value to the overall business, and be viewed as an expert and trusted advisor to X4 Leadership and functional leaders.
Develop IT strategy and technical roadmap for the company, working across the business to understand the needs of the business in alignment with the company's strategic priorities.
Bring clarity and direction to strategic business decisions by enabling the data used within the company to map to key company goals, metrics, and data insights.
Create and communicate business/technology/product alignment plans to the executive team, employees, business partners, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business objectives; identify training needs and deliver training programs to promote user self-service and technical proficiency.
Create an environment of exceptional teamwork and leadership behaviors within the IT function and across other peer groups; lead, inspire, and motivate, driving a culture of accountability.
Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to exploit new technologies to achieve key business objectives; monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can improve their information technology position.
Manage relationships with various technology, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives across the project portfolio and ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
Develop and implement an IT governance framework, underlying policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for the company.
Analyze the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions; create and manage annual operating budget and forecasting for IT.
Create, implement, and maintain policies, standards, practices, and procedures to ensure system security and compliance with existing regulations.
Implement, integrate, and maintain risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery procedures across the enterprise, based on a thorough understanding of key IT services that must be maintained to reduce financial loss and ensure critical customer service capability.
Accountable for the justification and prioritization of technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies and products.
Develop and oversee a dashboard providing comprehensive IT reports including KPIs, SLAs, financials, and other project portfolio metrics; balance competing demands of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risks.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and automation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI and Machine Learning.
Responsible for the overall cybersecurity program supporting a publicly traded, commercial company including policies and procedures to protect the organization’s digital assets, systems, and data.
Create and implement an infrastructure capable of supporting the company’s policy, application and infrastructure requirements as it progresses to a global organization.
Remain knowledgeable and networked with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and products.
Ensure the company’s technology processes, service and systems are compliant with state, federal and global regulations.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline; MBA/MS preferred.
15+ years of overall IT experience with increasing responsibility; 6+ years of senior level information technology management in a life sciences/biotechnology company.
Proven experience transitioning a company from early stage through commercialization and successfully implementing the necessary infrastructure and systems to support and protect the company.
Proven experience developing and implementing an IT functional growth philosophy and vision to meet company evolution and expansion. Sourcing, supporting, and retaining talent to deliver on functional objectives.
Experience deploying and maintaining systems in regulated environments including SOX and GxP; public company experience.
In-depth knowledge of IT systems architecture, governance frameworks, and industry best practices.
Understanding of purchasing, budgeting, and planning processes, and experience with IT contracts; extensive vendor management experience.
Project Management skills with the ability to create complex project plans, KPI’s, project justification and deployment metrics.
Proven track record in project and program management; expertise in financial management, resource management, governance, and organizational change management.
Extensive technical knowledge and application support experience of systems and applications within the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
Big picture mindset with strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; execution oriented and accountable.
Excellent leadership skills and collaborative management style.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills with a customer service orientation; able to work effectively with different work styles and business functions; approachable and shows respect for others.
Highly effective communication and presentation skills; ability to present data to varied audiences.
This position is based in Boston, MA, and offers a flexible hybrid work model with a minimum of 2 days/week in the office.
