Director of Electrical Engineering

The expanding Electronics Group at SharkNinja (creator of the familiar household brands

Shark

and

Ninja ) is looking for a dynamic, creative, talented, inspirational and committed Director of Electrical Engineering to lead and to deliver an extraordinary pipeline of new Shark branded products.

This role will focus on team management and embedded electronic design and product development lifecycle for our ambitious product roadmap of personal care & home environment products.

The successful candidate will have experience in analog and digital embedded design, including both hardware (schematic capture and PCB layout) and firmware (C and ASM), preferably in consumer products or similar and would be familiar with all product development aspects such as team task tracking, BOM cost tracking, DFMEA, documentation and PLM systems. This position is the leader within the group, coordinating activities and removing barriers for the embedded team members as well as providing status reporting for leadership reviews.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead, inspire and mentor senior and junior level engineers. Supporting hiring, team development and direct report's career growth.

Contribute to project work directly through architecture, schematics and software design while supporting DVTPR, DQTP, EMC and compliance testing.

Design and development of consumer products from initial concept to on-going product support within our global development organization.

Day-to-day coordination of team tasks to enable the delivery of functional prototypes for research and internal review.

Collaborate with Engineering and Product Marketing teams to provide initial cost estimates for EBOM and work effort to support advanced development and prototype needs, as well as final product implementation based upon thorough analysis of product requirements.

Coordinate and organize external supplier roadmap discussions and benchmarking activities to improve the efficiency of embedded designs.

Ensure the development of clear and concise firmware and hardware specifications/documentation and solutions to meet product requirements.

Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status.

Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues.

Functional Skills & Knowledge:

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance.

Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.

10+ years of relevant Engineering experience.

5+ years' experience directly managing senior and junior level engineers.

Experience in all aspects of electrical design: component selection, system architecture, documentation, test and debugging.

Previous industry experience in personal care and home environment product developments is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Lithium Ion battery packs is a plus.
