DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Director is responsible for the oversight, management, and quality assurance for all levels of clinical services provided by Buena Vista Health and Recovery. This includes, but is not limited to, training and supervision of clinical staff, program delivery, compliance with all laws and regulations, and documentation review.

As a member of the campus leadership team, this position works closely with the Executive Director, Clinical Leaders within BVR, and Medical Leaders on the clinical services provided, ensuring clinical operations are compliant and meet or exceed the fiscal, ethical, and legal standards established by the State of Arizona and the Department of Health Services, as well as the vision and core values of Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In conjunction with the Executive Director, ensures adherence to the required HIPAA, Joint Commission, Arizona State, and other monitoring agencies documented requirements including those found by county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Provides the Executive Director support by developing standardized programming for all levels of care, implementation, and evaluation.

Reviews clinical assessments daily, Treatment Plans, ASAM, and BPS routinely and assures right levels of care with patients.

Monitors compliance reports, timeliness reports, billing reports, and addresses all deficiencies in conjunction with Executive Director.

Serves as the subject matter expert within the facility and works collaboratively with medical, nursing, and technicians.

Reviews all clinical documentation, not limited to treatment plans, case notes, assessments, and written correspondence to verify that such documents meet insurance submission, Joint Commission, HIPAA, county, state, and federal agency standards.

Collaborates with the Executive Director and leadership team for the development of policies and procedures relating to Buena Vista Recovery programs.

Facilitates clinical oversight/supervision for all clinicians, including Behavioral Health Technicians, Clinical Support Specialists, Case Managers, and Masters level clinicians.

Participates in daily huddle meetings with the multidisciplinary team.

Works closely with the Utilization Review Team to ensure appropriate care and documentation.

Assists and works with the Executive Director regarding strategic and long-range clinical planning as needed.

Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical programs at site in conjunction with Executive Director.

Provides and/or coordinates clinical training for all clinical and program staff on mental health and substance abuse and other clinical topics relevant to client services provided by Buena Vista Recovery.

Partners with Executive Director to provide performance evaluations for all clinical staff.

Organizes, implements, and facilitates (where required) training program for clinical staff.

Ensures that clinical staff have been adequately trained in the use of any curriculum being delivered to patients.

Manages all IADs per state requirements.

Works collaboratively with other Clinical leaders at all sites of BVR to ensure key performance indicators are developed and met for the clinical team.

Provides group observations and feedback for the clinical team.

Coordinates the development and maintenance of Outpatient programming.

Coordinates with the billing team to ensure appropriate billing and documentation is occurring.

Participates in the hiring of all staff.

Performs other clinical and supervisory duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Licensure issued by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (in good standing) in the practice of behavioral health in Arizona at the Independent Level: PhD/Psychologist, LPC or LPC/LISAC or LCSW.

Maintain or acquire 12-hour Clinical Supervision Certificate Issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

Valid CPR, CPI, and First Aid certifications or successful completion of trainings at New Employee Orientation.

Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

5+ years experience in a supervisory or management role Clinical supervision experience per licensure.

Experience working with substance abuse in a residential and/or intensive outpatient milieu.

Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.

Knowledge of treatment modalities for substance abuse, mental health, or other co-occurring disorders.

Working knowledge of HIPAA PII security requirements.

A strong collaborator and team player.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Valid Drivers License.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or equivalent field of study.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

In a 12-hour work day: standing/walking up to 12 hours per day.

Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.

You must have the ability to use tools and equipment required for the position.

Mental Focus: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
