A law firm in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Tech Transactions and Data Privacy (Incident Response) Associate Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in privacy litigation and be well-versed in handling data privacy issues, tech transactions, and incident response matters. The Associate Attorney will work directly with clients, providing expert legal advice on complex privacy-related issues, while preparing and managing all aspects of litigation. This position offers a dynamic role with immediate client interaction and sophisticated casework.Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all elements of case work-up, including trial preparation for privacy-related cases.Provide strategic, practical advice to clients on tech transactions, data privacy, and incident response.Conduct comprehensive legal research on federal, state, and international privacy laws.Draft legal documents including briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.Represent clients in privacy litigation, guiding them through complex legal frameworks.Work closely with clients to navigate data breaches, cybersecurity incidents, and compliance requirements.Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel to ensure efficient resolution of privacy and tech transaction cases.Engage in frequent client interaction and guide data security practices and regulatory compliance.Assist in the negotiation and drafting of privacy agreements, tech contracts, and other transactional documents.Keep current with evolving data privacy regulations and technological advancements affecting privacy laws.Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Missouri (or eligibility for admission).Excellent academic credentials, with a preference for a strong focus on privacy, cybersecurity, or related legal fields.Requirements:

Significant litigation experience in a law firm or similar environment.Extensive knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and international privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).Experience managing and preparing cases from the initial work-up through trial.Proficiency in drafting key legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to interact with clients and provide pragmatic legal solutions on complex privacy issues.Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in privacy litigation or privacy-related incident response cases.Experience with data breaches, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.Strong background in tech transactions, privacy agreements, and data-sharing contracts.Knowledge of privacy laws in international jurisdictions.Skills:

Advanced legal research and writing abilities.Strong litigation skills, including case management and trial preparation.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.Familiarity with privacy laws and emerging trends in data privacy and security.Outstanding client relationship and communication skills.Proficient in handling sophisticated legal matters with minimal supervision.
