Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist Location: Westbrook, Maine Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Type: Full-Time Overview: Westbrook Schools is searching for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them achieve their fullest potential in both academic and social settings. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment results. Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address students' speech and language needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support. Maintain accurate and detailed records of student evaluations, treatment plans, and progress. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering professional insights and recommendations. Perform regular screenings and offer consultations as needed. Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Provide training and resources to school staff on speech and language development issues. Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Current license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Maine. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Maine Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists. In-depth knowledge of IDEA and other relevant special education regulations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required. Required Licensure and Certifications: Maine State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Maine. ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, including meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
