Job Description
In this role, you'll join an Agile team responsible for creating software features within Alpine's suite of software products. The Quality Assurance Engineer I will participate in all areas of the SDLC with a primary focus of creating, updating, and executing manual and automated test cases to identify and resolve issues, and ensure quality standards and guidelines are being adhered to.
Primary Responsibilities:Work with Agile Scrum team in creating and updating test cases for new and existing software features according to company standards.Execute manual test cases and perform exploratory testing to identify any issues or defects and to ensure overall quality of the software releases.Work with QA team in documenting issues and defects in JIRA with all details and ensure timely communication to the product owners, development teams, and stakeholders.Understand the requirements in JIRA in the form of Agile Epics, User Stories, and tasks.Participate in peer review sessions of technical solutions and related code.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher preferably in Computer Science or Engineering related fields.1+ years' experience as a junior Quality Assurance Tester or a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role, including past internships and University-related project work.Basic understanding of one or more Development Methodologies such as Agile with Scrum or Kanban.Good understanding of Test Methodologies and when to apply them.Basic experience using testing tools such as Selenium, Zephyr, TestRail, Microfocus, and/or Test Complete is preferred, but not needed.Ability to understand and document complex processes and procedures.Excellent problem solving and strong analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.Ability to work in teams and independently, with minimum supervision.
