Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and 2. verification of your baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in nutrition ***Exam Type: Temporary Exempt- (TEX) Category 17Fill Type: This is a Temporary Exempt (TEX) Category 17 Appointment from Civil Service rules pursuant to San Francisco Charter Section 10.104-17.Application Opening: September 17, 2024Application Deadline : September 30, 2024Compensation : $108,316 - $131,768 AnnuallyAt the San Francisco Human Services Agency, we believe in a San Francisco where everyone has the opportunity and support to achieve their full potential.Under general supervision, the nutritionist serves as a staff consultant on matters of nutrition for older adults and adults with disabilities living in the community.The nutritionist oversees and provides technical assistance to contractors funded by the department to deliver community-based nutrition services and health promotion programs. These services include congregate and home-delivered meals, food assistance, home-delivered groceries, and SNAP-Ed/CalFresh Healthy Living programs.Essential Duties and FunctionsServing as consultant to the staff of the department on the technical and practical aspects of the department's nutritional programs and activities.Participating in the development, coordinating and technical accuracy of the department's nutrition programs.Monitoring and evaluating contractor performance to ensure effective delivery of nutrition services and health promotion programs.Providing expert guidance and support to contractors to ensure adherence to nutrition and health program standards.Analyzing data submitted by contractors to assess program effectiveness and impact.Reviewing and certifying menus to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local nutrition regulations.Organizing meetings with community nutrition contractors.Ensuring that nutrition services and health promotion programs are culturally appropriate and sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of the populations served.Contributing to the development and refinement of nutrition and food services policies, procedures, standards, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).EducationPossession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in nutrition;

ANDExperienceOne (1) year of experience providing medical nutrition therapy in a public health or community health setting.License and CertificationCurrent registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);
