About the Director of Human Resources Role:The Director of Human Resources supports the key functions of human resources on the Talent Team. This role is critical to the overall defining and implementation of a human resources service model. This role is critical to leading the organization in compliance and providing top tier customer service to our staff. The Director of HR will support the HR team in key outcomes including but not limited to successful completion of necessary annual activities and any other org initiatives. Furthermore, this role will lead all staff data reporting and tracking for staff, compliance, engagement and demographic data. This includes but is not limited to data sharing across regional leadership teams and tracking the team data with fidelity to share out more holistically at the end of the year. The Director of Human Resources will co-create and implement Talent and HR strategies, alongside the Senior Director of HR and the CPO, that will support KIPP Colorado in becoming a Talent leader in the nonprofit space. This full-time position is a part of our Home Office Team. Ensure that feedback is focused on improving outcomes and experiences for students.Assist with both student and staff recruitment and engagement- including events, home visits, calls home, and other determined and related requirements.Your role, professional development, org wide meetings, etc may require you to travel around Denver to other KIPP Campuses, our Home Office, or other KIPP or PD events.Other duties as assigned (such as but not limited to, lunch duty, arrival/dismissal duty, bathroom duty, school support duties, etc.).Compliance:Ensures organization, leaders, and staff are operating in compliance with ethical, legal, and policy guidelines.Leads on licensure and ESSA compliance requirements in collaboration with Senior Director of HR and school leadership.Leads on ensuring that KIPP Colorado staff members remain in compliance with mandatory trainings, boundaries and mandatory reporting requirements, licensure requirements and ECE Teacher requirements.Maintains a strong understanding of licensure and ESSA requirements in order to answer candidate questions and assure recruitment is geared toward qualified candidates.With the Talent Team, ensures all job descriptions are updated annually and are relevant to current roles and responsibilities, including compliance requirements.Supports the human resources manager to ensure compliance with all employment requirements.Lead on the KIPP Colorado background check and screening process and assure all staff are adhering to our background check policies, subsequent arrest reports and the CBI record keeping requirements.Assure that KIPP Colorado remains in compliance with ADA mandates, requirements and accommodations.Staff Facing Human Resources Support Areas:Leads on the improvement of the KIPP Colorado paid leave time off approaches, approval process, and end to end administration to assure KIPP Colorado schools are sustainably staffed.Assure that all KIPP Colorado staff members are informed about our PTO programs and approaches.Support the Senior Director of HR in conducting internal investigations and grievance processes.Leads on the Staff Satisfaction and Staff Retention approaches at KIPP Colorado, including our bi-annual Q12 and TNTP surveys and other staff retention approaches.Lead the assessment of the KIPP Colorado staff benefits program and develop a plan to address staff preferences aligned with organizational values.In collaboration with Senior Director of HR and the Chief People Officer, oversee the administration and capturing of staff satisfaction surveys and staff concern areas and co-create a plan to address staff satisfaction to drive smart retention.Data Reporting and Tracking:Implements strong data systems to support reporting, risk management, and data informed decision-making.Assures HR systems and technology (platforms) are accurate, innovative, functional for staff and leaders, and allow for dynamic data reporting and tracking of staff, performance, and compensation data.Owns staff data collection strategy and follow through.Ensures collection of staff information occurs accurately and efficiently at all stages of the employee life-cycle.Develops a cadence and proactively shares and supports data reporting to regional leadership team members.Team Leadership:Lead directly and/or indirectly; staff members, strategy and work across the KIPP Colorado organization and specifically on the Talent Team.Manages and coaches team towards annual goals, regularly progress monitors, and redirects goals, outcomes, or performance as needed.Role Level Specifics, Scope of Work, and Level of Responsibility:For more about how you’ll lead at this level, please visit the
