Job Summary:

The Director of Clinical Services is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of clinical and therapeutic services across our Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP), youth homeless shelter, and transitional living housing program. This role will ensure that all clinical services provided to youth and young adults are trauma-informed, evidence-based, and aligned with regulatory standards and best practices. The Director will lead a team of clinicians, provide direct supervision, and collaborate with other departments to create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for youth experiencing homelessness, trauma, or other complex behavioral and emotional challenges.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Clinical Oversight:

Develop, implement, and oversee clinical services for the QRTP, youth homeless shelter, and transitional living program, ensuring that all services meet or exceed state, federal, and organizational standards.

Ensure that all clinical practices are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive.

Oversee the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning.

Conduct regular clinical reviews, audits, and quality assurance checks to maintain compliance and improve service delivery.

Medicaid Billing and Compliance:

Ensure that all clinical services are billed accurately in compliance with Medicaid and other third-party payer requirements.

Develop and implement internal procedures and protocols to maximize billing efficiency and accuracy, minimizing denials and errors.

Stay current on Medicaid regulations, billing codes, and reimbursement policies to ensure ongoing compliance and optimize funding.

Train and support clinical staff in proper documentation and billing practices to meet Medicaid requirements.

Leadership and Supervision:

Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and training to clinical staff, including therapists, case managers, and interns.

Lead regular clinical team meetings and case consultations to foster a collaborative, supportive, and learning-focused environment.

Recruit, hire, and retain qualified clinical staff; ensure ongoing professional development and performance evaluations.

Program Development and Evaluation:

Collaborate with the COO and other leadership team members to develop and refine clinical programs, policies, and procedures.

Monitor program outcomes and effectiveness, using data-driven approaches to inform program improvements and strategic decision-making.

Ensure the integration of clinical services with other program areas, including education, employment, and life skills training.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies related to clinical services.

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure client and staff safety.

Community Engagement and Partnerships:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including mental health agencies, social services, schools, and other community resources.

Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and other events related to youth homelessness, mental health, and child welfare.

Advocate for the needs of youth and young adults in the community and work to enhance service collaboration and resource sharing.

Direct Client Services:

Provide direct therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family therapy, as needed.

Serve as a clinical resource for crisis intervention and de-escalation for both clients and staff.

Part of the on-call rotation for program & clinical support

Qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field required; clinical licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, etc.) required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience working with at-risk youth, youth experiencing homelessness, or in a residential treatment setting is highly preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.

Excellent clinical assessment, intervention, and crisis management skills.

Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices.

In-depth knowledge of Medicaid billing, documentation, and compliance requirements.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and communities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in clinical documentation, case management systems, and billing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in program development, strategic planning, and quality assurance.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to QRTPs, homeless shelters, and transitional living programs.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

Work Environment:

This position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Ability to travel locally for meetings, training, and partnership development.

Ability to occasionally work in loud or stressful environments with high needs behavioral clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
