This includes the Frank Residences, offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55; and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.Grounded in the Jewish values of dignity, compassion, and community, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, fondly referred to in the past as "the Jewish Home," was founded in 1871. Today, 150 years later, it continues to build upon its legacy of enriching the lives of older adults.What you’ll do as an Infection Preventionist, RN:Accountable for decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between residents, patients, staff, visitors, and the community.Partners with facility leaders, physicians, local, state, and national agencies on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the infection prevention program.Oversees the operations of the infection prevention program.Develops and enforces effectual policies and procedures for the facility that ensures compliance with OSHA, CDC, Title 22, CMS, and other county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.Accountable for surveillance of healthcare-acquired and community-acquired infections.Directs and assists in preparing reports and statistical data for the Infection Control Committee and other committees and staff as needed.Manages the goal-setting process for system, unit, and physician goals related to healthcare-acquired infections and conditions.Research, interpret, explain, and apply information from computer software, technical manuals and guides, videos, and online materials.Responsible for investigation of exposure and outbreak incidents.Institutes appropriate infection control containment measures.Conducts investigation and special infection control studies as indicated.Conducts and keeps an accurate record of ongoing surveillance of infections in residents/patients.Participates in the national collaboratives and external reporting to the CDC NHSN system.Ensure documentation for all trainings is completed in accordance with applicable requirements.Researches and assists with appropriate projects, situations and/or problems as assigned.Evaluates facility-cleaning products on an annual basis.Assists in the revision of the Infection Control Manual on a yearly basis.Maintains current knowledge base in Infection Prevention/Control.In conjunction with the Director of Staff Education, orients new employees to infection control, OSHA, Blood borne Pathogen Standard, and Tuberculosis Exposure Control Plan.Conducts in-services for the facility on a regular and as-needed basis.Serves as a resource to all levels of staff on infection control practices.Participates in the facility’s QAPI program.Other duties as assigned.Why you should work for us as an Infection Preventionist, RN:FULL BENEFITS

- member savings platform, that provides discounts on everyday products and services.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, public health, or other healthcare science.Currently licensed as an RN, preferred.Must be nationally certified in Infection Prevention and Control by NADONA (IP-BC Credential) or completion of certification within 6 months of employment.Minimum of five years of clinical experience in a hospital/healthcare setting or disease surveillance experience in a public health setting.Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly with peers and customers.Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.Ability to cater to various adult learning styles.Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.Self-motivated and able to work independently and work on multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.Ability to be accurate, concise, detail-oriented, and make independent decisions.
