Position Overview: As a School Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the diverse needs of our students. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to assess, plan, and implement interventions that promote students' independence and participation in school activities. Your expertise will contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and other areas relevant to occupational therapy.Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, in collaboration with the IEP (Individualized Education Program) team.Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in groups, utilizing evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques.Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom activities and routines.Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust intervention plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.Provide education and support to parents and caregivers regarding strategies to promote students' functional skills development at home.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.Strong understanding of child development, learning theory, and educational practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Dedication to cultural competence and providing inclusive services to students from diverse backgrounds.
