Qualifications:
Master's in Occupational Therapy: Required from an accredited programColorado State Licensure: Must have an active OT license to practice in ColoradoSchool-Based Experience: Preferred but not mandatoryIEP Knowledge: Understanding of developing and implementing Individualized Education ProgramsCommunication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for interacting effectively with students, parents, and school staffAdaptability: Ability to tailor therapy techniques to meet diverse student needsTechnology Proficiency: Comfortable using teletherapy platforms and digital toolsProfessionalism and Organization: Demonstrated professionalism and strong organizational skills
Colorado State Requirements:
Criminal Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBIFingerprinting: Mandatory for all school-based personnel in ColoradoContinuing Education: Adherence to Colorados continuing education requirements for OT license renewalChild Abuse Reporting Training: Required training on identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect, in line with Colorado state lawsSchool-based pediatric experienceSchool-based reference
