Job Title: Special Education Teacher Location: Wendell, Idaho Position Summary: We are excited to announce an opening for a Special Education Teacher in Wendell, Idaho. The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs, helping them reach their full potential. This role involves working closely with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure an inclusive and effective learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement customized education plans (IEPs) that address each students unique needs. Adjust and differentiate instructional techniques and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' academic and behavioral progress. Keep detailed records of student performance and update IEPs as needed. Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of special education students in mainstream classrooms. Regularly communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns. Provide supervision and guidance to teaching assistants and paraprofessionals. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current best practices in special education. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Idaho teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement (K-12). Successful completion of the required Praxis II exam(s) in Special Education. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. Experience in creating and implementing IEPs. Licensure and Certification Requirements: Idaho Standard Instructional Certificate with a Special Education endorsement. Passing score on the required Praxis II exam(s). Background check and fingerprint clearance as mandated by the Idaho State Department of Education. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Special Education or a related field. Experience working with a broad range of disabilities. Familiarity with assistive technology and its classroom applications. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Capacity to sit, stand, and navigate the classroom for extended periods. Physical ability to perform interventions and manage the physical demands associated with student needs. Work Environment: The position is set in a school environment with moderate noise levels. Regular interaction with students, parents, teachers, and administrative staff.
