Job Title: Special Education Teacher Location: Burbank, Illinois Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Burbank, Illinois. This full-time position involves working in our self-contained Developmental Learning Program (DLP) in Midlothian, serving students from Early Childhood (EC) to 8th grade. The specific age group assignment will depend on the qualifications of the candidate. This role focuses on supporting students with multiple, severe, and profound disabilities. Educational Requirements: Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement. Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs. Provide direct instruction to students in individual and small group settings. Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with severe and profound disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure the best educational outcomes for students. Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to IEPs. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth. Utilize specialized techniques and materials to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. Certifications: Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement.
