Role Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned communications professional with deep expertise in operations and restaurant-level communications, internal communications, executive communications, public relations, and issues/crisis management.

The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, solving communications problems, and testing new ideas. They have excellent writing chops, can create strong relationships across all areas of the business with the ability to provide strategic counsel and thrive in a fast-paced environment. They are able to lead the larger communications strategy and own executional elements to bring it to life.

This individual will have the unique opportunity of shaping the communications strategy for one of the most beloved and fast-growing brands, Firehouse Subs, while leading the day-to-day responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Firehouse Subs leadership to understand the business and develop communication strategy to support storytelling to all key audiences.

Serve as an advisor to and work in partnership with various business functions to support internal communications, franchisee and restaurant communications, and public relations efforts.

Lead strategy and content creation for franchisee communication channels.

Guide cross-functional crisis/issues management team.

Build PR strategy and work with marketing team and PR agency on all earned media tactics.

Manage internal communications strategy to drive employee connection to brand strategy and support larger team culture.

Manage and develop direct report.

Lead reporting on content performance across channels.

Role Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications or related field/experience.

5-7 years of professional experience in communications role, specifically restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry.

Proven ability to craft and communicate a compelling message/tell a story.

High attention to detail and a creative thinker with proven problem-solving skills.

Team player with proactive and strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear and concise messaging.

Ability to clearly articulate information to leadership and influence decisions.

Ability to drive communications change within an organization.
