Job OverviewThe Director of Marketing and Communications will set a clear vision for PPMNJ’s brand and will implement marketing strategies for our mission-driven operations including patient health services, educational services, advocacy initiatives, and engagement of community and public support. This role reports to the Vice President of Development and External Affairs and is the leader responsible for translating brand strategies and objectives into actionable social, digital, community, and PR plans that increase brand awareness, attract patients, and engage supporters in our work.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements a marketing and communications annual strategic plan for PPMNJ that builds and maintains a positive and consistent brand. Collaborates across departments to ensure consistency of message and brand on all materials to help drive patients to PPMNJ’s programs and services.In collaboration with the President/CEO and VP of Development and External Affairs, develops branded content for all PPMNJ publications including program flyers, event materials, annual reports, appeal letters, and other programmatic marketing information.Manages content for PPMNJ’s website and ensures all content is current, relevant, and adheres to our brand.Creates and distributes monthly Board Newsletter and Board Briefing.Creates and distributes PPMNJ Annual Report.Creates and distributes Quarterly PPMNJ Newsletter.Oversees PPMNJ’s social media communications and branding on various online platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn, and responds to constituent comments and feedback where appropriate in a timely manner.Develops and maintains an up-to-date media list and positive professional relationships with members of the media. Composes and distributes press releases in an effort to increase brand recognition in the community, as appropriate.Tracks and adheres to marketing and communications budget.Completes Board Reports and Work Plans as directed by Leadership.Represents PPMNJ at local, state, and national meetings and travels as needed.Evaluates program successes and makes recommendations for improvements.Performs other duties as requested by President/CEO and VP of Development and External Affairs.ExperienceBachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field. Master’s degree preferred.Three to five years of proven experience in communications strategies and activities.
