An opportunity has arisen for a diligent and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Compliance Officer. The purpose of this role is to support with the implementation and maintaining of food compliance regulations. The post holder will also be responsible for scheduling and conducting food safety audits, along with ensuring both managers and employees are updated on food safety standards.

Responsibilities may include:

Working cross-functionally with stakeholders to establish controls and standards for food safety

Implementing and maintaining food safety related systems and standards for production

Ensuring that processes and practices are in compliance with current legislation and best practices and are aligned with customer specifications

Facilitating and delivering food safety training as per current food safety requirements

Coordinating and facilitating third-party food safety audits; building credible relationships with external audit body contacts.

Reporting the results of safety audits and submitting recommendations for corrective action

Identifying, documenting, reporting and acting upon suggested corrective actions for continuous improvement and compliance

Carrying out routine internal audits and producing reports based on findings to drive improvement

Investigating any customer complaints and ensuring necessary actions are implemented and communicated

Updating key compliance policies and procedures in line with regulations and best practices

Challenging the company’s degree of compliance against customer specific policies and retailer codes of practice

Our perfect Compliance Officer would have:

Demonstrable experience of working in a compliance based role, ideally within the food industry

Proficient experience of Food Safety legislation and knowledge of external audit body frameworks and quality management systems

Experience of site accreditations and customer visits/audits

A well-organised and efficient manner; proactive in approach with a focus on driving improvements

Excellent attention to detail

Highly effective communication skills; can engage with all levels of the business

High proficiency in all MS Office packages

The ability to operate and thrive within a fast-paced environment whilst working well under pressure; prioritises effectively to meet deadlines

The hours you would work:

Monday to Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm (40 hours per week).
